MISSION STATEMENT
The Indianapolis Ernie Pyle Chapter of the WWII Roundtable was formed in 1987.
Every month we have Veterans, guests and members share their real-life stories.
We bring in speakers who are experts and authors of military history, including local leaders of the military community.
Our diverse members are Veterans, Veteran families, friends or military enthusiasts, war aficionados and history buffs.
We learn about history and meet real American heroes.

“Dale Eugene Gillespie, 86, passed away on January 17, 2011. Born on March 15, 1924 in Whitley County, Indiana, he was a life-long Hoosier. Gillespie graduated from Columbia City High School in 1941. He enlisted in the Army on his 18th birthday in 1942. He served with the 82nd Airborne for three and a half years.
Gillespie was a paratrooper, making combat jumps in Sicily, Italy, Normandy and Holland. Among other awards, he earned a Bronze Star in Sicily and six major campaign stars.”
