"I just posted to my YouTube channel page the latest lecture in the series on Strategic Bombing of Japan. The first lecture was on Operation Matterhorn, the strategic bombing of Japan from China. The second lecture will be about the fire bombing of Japan. The fourth lecture will be about the race between the Allies and Nazi Germany to build the bomb. The fifth lecture will be about the building of the bomb - the Manhattan Project. The final lecture in this series will be about the two atomic missions to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
To better understand what happens during a nuclear explosion, I think you should have a basic understanding of nuclear physics. That is the topic of this lecture.
Please feel free to make any comments as to errors that you might find." John Shively, July 15, 2025
